The inaugural event of the Wainwright Challenge Series.
The Lake District is home to the 'Wainwrights' - 214 peaks within the beautiful national park - and in 2022, we set the challenge of summitting 12 of them within 12 hours.
The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
MND is clearly a disease which not only threatens the life of the sufferer but takes away the life that they knew.

The peaks to summit were located in a circular route between Keswick, Buttermere and Borrowdale.
Section A:
Causey Pike
Scar Crags
Sail
Crag Hill
Wandope
Whiteless Pike
Section B:
Robinson
Hindscarth
Dale Head
High Spy
Maiden Moor
Cat Bells
We had 16 participants (+2 dogs!) in total covering either the full challenge, or one of the two sections
Section A had a steep start but the group managed to get up to higher ground. The weather was kind to us at this point and the views were spectacular!
Section B had another steep start, and this was tough for those doing the full challenge. In addition, the rain had begun...along with gusts, this made Section B particularly challenging! But everyone made it through to the end
